Arrowhead Game Studios, the creators of Helldivers 2, have announced that the "rapid patch" released on Steam yesterday is now also available on PS5.
This patch arrives in response to player feedback regarding matchmaking issues and frequent game crashes. The game has also faced criticism concerning its PC performance optimizations and the use of a kernel-level GameGuard anti-cheat system, as well as dissatisfaction with the in-game monetization strategies.
Despite these concerns, Game Director Mikael Eriksson acknowledged on the game's Discord channel today that a permanent fix for matchmaking is under development. He explained that this solution requires "a few more days" for testing before it can be implemented.
Eriksson also mentioned earlier today, "We have rolled out the new patch we initially deployed on PC to PS5 players as well. It's important to note that we have made further enhancements to the matchmaking system. We're crafting a complete matchmaking fix, but it necessitates a bit more time for thorough testing and launch. We appreciate your understanding and patience as we finalize these improvements."
